3000GT VR-4 or Stealth RT TT?
Hmm, so I see that the 1991 3000GT VR-4 and the Dodge Stealth RT Turbo are the same exact, at least as far as the mechanics go. But from what I've seen from a couple of sites, such as http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html the 3000GT is a bit faster then the Stealth. Is this information really all that accurate at all to begin with? I mean, ya, I know that aerodynamics and a one being a BIT lighter than the other would play a factor, but besides that, they'd be roughly the same. I'm in debate between these two cars, yet am not quite sure which to go with. If one has a bigger advantage over the other, I'd gladly go with that one, but we'll see. Does anyone have any opinions of which have better interior, better driving, lower, or just all around better cars? Or can anyone give me any links that show a comparison between the two, or a site that compares performance between cars in general, like the one I posted above? Thanks so much, and sorry for the many questions . I just didn't want to buy one and then have so many people laugh that the other is so muchb etter because if it's weight, or style, or something like that.

Nah they are the exact same. Different results from different sources just states that one person was a better driver than another or they were in different conditions (ie altitude). Which ever one you think looks best, go ahead and buy. Otherwise the Stealth tends to be cheaper.

Technically the Stealth will be a hair faster because of it being slightly lighter. Other than that they are the same.

Re: 3000GT VR-4 or Stealth RT TT?
haha ok, thanks bro. I think the main deciding factor for me is how far away it is xD. It seems like everywhere I look for this car, it's across the country. Of course, I won't buy it if it's a cheap, beat down version, even if it's next door. But there's not much point in goign to Cali, which first off isn't the best because it's along the shore, and then once I'm down there, have it be a PoS or have the seller raise the price. Iono.. we'll see. W/b the interior? Are they relatively the same, or a bit different? I haven't been abel to find many pics on the net on the interior, at least w/o it being too dark to see anything.

Interior is the same. Only difference I can even think of is the VR4 (at least 91-96) is going to have the Active Aero switch in place of the coin tray on the console.

Re: 3000GT VR-4 or Stealth RT TT?
The choice between the two is really just about esthetics. The mechanical and option differences are few. Though I've owned only VR4s, I like the looks of the pre 94 Stealths then the same year Mitsubishi's.

Active Aero switch? What's that?
EDIT: oh, and I'm not going for anything newer than a '91, because there's a huge insurance spike there, and I'm only 17 xD. Probably wo'nt make a difference at all, but just thought I'd add that. |

The 3000 comes with a movable front air dam and a tilting rear spoiler. The switch turns it on.

ohhh ok. So basically it's not all that important really. Just a bit of something extra to amuse someone who has never seen that before with.

They are exactly the same as everyone said. May I suggest you read this and our FAQ before making any purchasing decisions.

I vote you buy an N/A first. Still pretty powerful, less chance of you killing yourself/others at the risk of driving insanely fast.

Re: 3000GT VR-4 or Stealth RT TT?
haha, it's not my first car. I've been driving for about three years now and I've never been bumped, hti anyone else, nor ever get any sort of traffic infraction. I'm not going to be abusing it's powers once I have it, adn hte main thing I want is that nice acceleration and the style. I wouldn't want to put a car to that standard in danger at all xD. Now my truck on the other hand... it's just lucky I'm a safe driver.

Re: 3000GT VR-4 or Stealth RT TT?
It says 'first car' but I refer pretty much anyone 18 and younger to that thread because it is relevant. As my post says in there, every single person thinks they are a good/safe driver. 50% of them wreck their new TT within a month. I was 20 (i think) when I got my vr4, I still almost wrecked it the first week....I got lucky and slid between trees rather than into them. I say it because I mean it. On top of that, in your thread about buying a TT 300ZX, you say you only have $5k to spend on it, which is not enough to buy and maintain any of the 3 cars. Nothing against you, but I do not think a 17 year old should own a TT.

Re: 3000GT VR-4 or Stealth RT TT?
my limit was just $5K because i'd restor it on my own if it's cheap. What I will pay in actuality is about $10K for starters, to amke sure it's runnign and in good shape, and hten invest more money in it later.

Re: 3000GT VR-4 or Stealth RT TT?
Sorry bro, but $10K would only get the car. I looked over a year and finally settled on mine and paid $10K for her. I have a non-turbo and the maintenance is already killing me....so hopefully you have some type of extra savings somewhere else because it aint gonna be cheap. I can't imagine how the TT guys do it... :o[
