95 Aurora transmission slipping

I have 95 Aurora with 200,000 miles and the transmission is slipping. When I check fluid cold their is nothing on stick, when hot the fluid id bubbling and overfull. Should I change the filter and fluid or will this hurt the car?

Checking your transmission fluid cold won't tell you a damn thing about it. For an accurate result, you have to check the fluid with the engine running. Bubbles in the fluid doesn't sound good, and overfilled automatic transmissions don't usually function properly. It sounds to me like you need a fluid and filter change, maybe even a full flush, which will need to be done professionally.

I saw your other post about the non functioning instrument panel and the defroster stuck on high. The panel problem would probably be an electrical problem that cuts off power to the the instrument panel. Blown fuse, bad relay, bad wiring, etc.
As for your defroster the switch is probably the issue. For now, if you want to shut it off find the fuse for the defroster and pull it out, but for a more permanent solution, that sort of thing will need someone who knows more about your basket case of an electrical system.

Re: 95 Aurora transmission slipping

Thanks for the information, I was not sure about changing the fluid due to some saying the ph change by adding new fluid could damage the vehicle.
