Smile How To Disable VATS in 89 Camaro

Hello all,
Does anyone know how that the VATS system can be bypassed in an 89 IROC Camaro? I have heard about putting a resistor of same value as the key chip directly into the white wire line in order for the computer to get a constant signal without the key chip. Does anyone out there know if its safe to do this and if so does anyone have a wiring diagram for doing the procedure?? Thanks.
Russ.
