05 cadillac escalade engine light
6.0 ext model....engine lights been on.....plugged in my scanner and no communication, checked fuses and all good, looked at cigeratte lighter port and there where coins in there, usually its a simple fuse fix on other cars along with taking the coins out of the port and replacing the fuse, mostly because the cig lighter is linked with the obd connecter on a majority of cars, and people store their coins in the port.... but simple case i cant get my scanner to link up any tips?

Re: 05 cadillac escalade engine light
Have you ever successfully used this scan tool on this Escalade? Your Escalade probably uses a CAN protocol and your scan tool may not support the protocol used by your 2006 Caddy.
Does your scan tool have it's own battery or does it get power from the OBD-2 port? If it gets power from the port, you know the fuse is not the problem. -Rod |
