2005 Buick Lacrosse CX misc. issues
Well last year my aunt purchsed a silver 2005 Buick Lacrosse CX with the 3.8L engine. Everything ran good through the winter and it handled well with the Traction Control and ABS. I only noticed one problem and it was a sqeaking noise coming from the center console. It would make the noise whenever i accelerated or slowed down or when ever the car moved up or down. Havent checked it out yet but i plan to. Another issue I am having is with the transmission. The first time it happened was when i was accelerating onto the highway. It changed into second good and as i reached 40 mph the car started hesitating and jumping. The car seemed to have lost power between 2nd and 3rd gear. I let off the gas pedal and accelerated again and it was okay. Now just today after leaving the mall i turned onto the highway and it did it again. I was taking off kind of fast and it shifted into 2nd fine. Then as it reached 45mph it started hesitating. I looked at rpms and it started jumping between 2000 and 3000. I was waiting for REDUCED ENGINE POWER to turn on but nothing. Not even SES light.Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: 2005 Buick Lacrosse, brakes/traction problem
I own a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. I have had steering problems, transmission clutch. And, now an ongoing problem with the brake/traction active light.
When parking or backing up slowly, my brakes "grab" and make a loud noise, then the traction active light appears. It has been at the dealership 4 times in the past 4 months for this and nothing is fixed yet! Has anyone heard of this problem with the LaCross? Thanks for any help. This is frustrating. |

You probably have the LaCross transmission problem fixed by now. Mine did that and it was the transmission clutch. Now I have other issues with mine.

Re: 2005 Buick Lacrosse CX misc. issues
actually i didnt get the transmission problem fixed yet and now when i take sharp turns and push the gas pedal there is a small whining noise. so i checked the transmission fluid and level and theyre both fine. i also had problems with the abs and trac it was a bad speed sensor.
