Bulldog71SS vs. 90redgt
Had some fun races with Bulldog71SS last night. I'm sure everyone here knows that he's got a Cobalt SS. Me= 331 mustang w/ Heads/Cam/Intake. I'll tell you what i've never ridden in a SRT-4 (everyone seems to think the SRT is faster which it may be) but that cobalt ain't no joke i'll tell ya what. Especially on the highway. We went from a roll a few times on the highway. He honked it down everytime and as soon as we both downshifted i pulled pretty good, considering i have probably close to 150 more HP at the wheels. But, then i decided since my obvious power advantage to give him approx. 2 seconds to build up RPM's and get into the higher part of his power band. He didn't know i was going to do this, just honked it down and took off i just counted to 2 then took off. He was probably 2 cars ahead of me and i didn't start passing him till about 100-105 mph. My car traps the 1/4mile at about 112mph so i was almost done with 4th gear and only about 1/2 a car ahead. I was passing him but that definately surprised me. Turbo 4 cyl. aren't the only ones with top-end anymore! Look out for the Supercharged ones too! lol. When i was passing him in 4th gear i was doing about 5000rpms i don't know if their ears were hurting after that but i know mine were. The sound of my exhaust bouncing off the concrete, plus the car next to me....ehh hard to hear after that hehehe. Well anyway we also decided to get a couple stoplight battles. Which was hard as hell, we couldnt' for the life of us get damn redlight. We got a couple though and went WOT one race and it was pretty much over when i finally got some traction. After taht i decided to see what his car could do by only going 3/4 throttle and he beat me by about 1 and half cars when i did that. So it's still got some get-up and go for a s/c 4 cyl. But that thing really shines on the highway's for sure. Did i mention it's also a lot quieter than an SRT4 too? Sleeper......Idles smooth also, real smooth. Ok this post is long enough...in conclusion.
Cobalt SS: surprised me a lot....good on the highway for sure, from a dig...strong but it's stronger from a roll. no cliffnotes you lazy bastards...!

Awesome.. I love the cobalt, especially in the blue it comes..
BTW, supercharged engine have nothing on turbo charged engines on the highway. If you ever raced a turboed car 90+..and you here that woosh and loss of traction because of the instant torque...you'd know what i mean. Still though, i'm a supercharger kind of guy..nothing like that REEEEE noise.

Re: Bulldog71SS vs. 90redgt
Yup, I was pretty much outmatched by the old 5.0. Brandon's car is definetly a bruiser to say the least. Only advantage I had was in some twisties we passed through...I was doing about 95-100 through those Brandon
You shoulda gone Carnut, we had a ton of fun lastnight, and hey, the added wieght in Brandon's car mighta evened things up a bit. Considering I had my 110 pound g/f with me taking vids. We might go to the Pavilions around 8:00 or so tonight, so hit up Brandon if you're interested.

Re: Bulldog71SS vs. 90redgt
yeah it was just us two for the night, and like i said i've never ridden in a SRT but i know the cobalt is strong on the highway. The cobalt handles very well. 95-100 through the twisties while i was doing like 60-70 lol.

sounds super duper fun. the outcome was definitly alot better then i expected for the cobalt. i love that car, it looks 100X's better then a srt4 and stock for stock, they are pretty close. however if i wanted to go for power, i think the srt4 is still the way to go. but the srt4 just feels and looks likes a cheaper car inside and out while the cobalt feels like it has alot more class. but hmmm if bulldog stood that much of a chance against you on the freeway, i wonder how i would do.

Re: Bulldog71SS vs. 90redgt
Good kill 90RedGT. I doubt that Bulldogs car will be close to your car anytime soon, but i'm sure he's not paying for his performance at the gas pump either. Good to see members racing on the board.

Re: Bulldog71SS vs. 90redgt
lol yeah i'm definately paying the price for performance at the pump. Time for a Corolla or camry. 30mpg? hell yeah hehehehe. Yeah its always cool to get a race with someone on the board. That's how i met carnut too. a long time ago though.

Re: Re: Re: Bulldog71SS vs. 90redgt
The Cobalt is my daily driver to mod a bit and have some fun with, so I'm not ever going to try to make it compete with Brandon's stang. However, the Camaro will be an animal when it's done.
