Day of Riding

Met up with my dad today to do a little enduro riding for the day. Had a great time besides some parts being a bit slick. At the end of the day we decided to get a pictures of us screwing around. Well, first I went and my dad took some pics of me and everything went fine. Well, then he wanted a picture of him too so I got the camera and waited for him to come around the corner. Well as he is doing this his back tire loses traction causing him to head straight for me. At the rate of speed he was going and the fact that I am in motox boots I don't have time to get away. He hits me and I fly straight up on the handle bars as we both then crash to the ground. It honestly feels like I was just in a fight and lost by KO. On top of that I ruined his entire headlight fixture on his bike. Surprisingly, I managed to hold on to the camera the whole time without it getting any damage lol.

Here is the picture of my dad about 3 seconds before he hits me:

Here are some pics he took of me:

Sorry for the poor quality. The camera we were using wasn't top of the line.

Re: Day of Riding

Great pics Alex. Sounds like you had a fun time. I hope you, your father and the bikes are OK?

That reminds me I need to get out and hit the trails before storing the bike for the winter. I'll try to take some pics.

Nice pics and nice riding by your dad.

I wish MY dad could ride like that. But he's 77 and last rode in 1953

Re: Day of Riding

Haha, well he is fine. I however am quite sore lol. It feels like someone came up and took a cheap shot by punching me in the stomach. He broke his headlight and the plastic part around it when I hit it but that can be fixed haha. For now, it is time for me to get better.

Well, my father is 54 and he still rides very well....except for when he is running me over lol. He has been riding since he was 16 so he has plenty of experience under his belt.

Oh, and my bike is fine. I did break the front break lever earlier by going around a slick turn and laying it over, but we had a replacement. I was not on my bike when it happend. Just me vs my dad and his bike lol.

If you aren't crashing then you're not riding hard enough.

Freestyle? I think the last time that happened was when I was a teenager. I had a Hodaka 100 SuperRat MX. I try to ride carefully now but the bike will always surprise you and I just go along for the ride.

Out of curiosity did you keep your frame stock or polish it?

Re: Day of Riding

Polished! The part where my boot rubs tends to wear it out but I just try and keep on top of it and keep the frame shining like yours.

Edit: You can kind of tell in this picture next to my old SL (which by the way had a rock thrown through the winshield by some guy who also tried to steal my grill last night...long story).

Fortunately, I had my VR4 in the garage so it's still fine.

Sorry, I just like posting pics of all my rides! lol
