Should be 19R in it's presentation livery - perhaps with the squiggles removed.

Didn't you get the AM Racing one from the British GT series too?

Maybe one for the hard core GTR fans ... scroll down and you'll find a Davidoff team jacket for sale.

Re: Show us your F1 Memorabilia / F1 related items you've bought
I've had both of these items for a couple of months, but have been lazy and am just now getting around to sharing them. I think the exciting part of obtaining both these items is that I'd never seen either one before and so am am very pleased to be adding them to the collection.
The first one isn't exactly F1 related, but we've blurred the line with discussions of the LCC Rocket here in the past and I know that I am not the only fan among our ranks. We've all seen the lapel pins relating to the F1 but I never knew there was one for the Rocket until it appeared on Ebay one day. It's a fairly good size ["That's what she said." ] with the round portion measuring a full inch in diameter (...or about 2.5 cm's for you people with the more intuitive measuring system ). I am somewhat embarassed to say that there was so little interest in this item that after receiving only two bids I was able to purchase it for just £1.71 plus postage. Mind you, I'm not complaining about the low price, but I expected a lot more interest and was ready and willing to pay significantly more when I saw it. = = = = = The second item I paid even less for because it was actually given to me for free. It was even more of a surprise than the pin because I really didn't even know what I was getting until I opened the box. Without giving too much away, Gordon apparently shared this poster and a few other items with someone he paid a visit to and that person wasn't going to use this. A member of his staff knew of my undying love for the F1 and figured that I was the perfect person to pass it along to. He contacted me through another forum and told me he had a poster he wanted to send me that showed all the cars Gordon Murray had designed and if I wanted it all he needed was my address. He's a car enthusiast himself and even if he didn't want it he could have sold it for sure, so the generosity he displayed to simply send it on to me (postage paid, in fact) was very special. When he first mentioned it, the thing that came to mind was the painting that Gordon shared during his slide presentation at ArtCenter in 2005. GM stated it had been created by a fan who showed up at his door unannounced to deliver it and while he certainly thought the painting was very nice, he mentioned to us in the audience that it was lacking a number of cars he'd done over the years. I wouldn't be surprised if this new poster, copyrighted in 2007, was likely put together from the inspiration of that original piece. I sent my benefactor that image of the original painting to see if it was going to be the same and he told me 'no', that it was really quite different. At that point I knew it was going to be something I'd never seen and the fact that it was coming my way via Gordon was pretty cool too. It has this neat blueprint effect which you'll probably catch in the closeup images - the only disappointing fact is that it was folded when it was printed (probably for press kit use) but I may still stick it in a frame someday soon. Without further ado... Click to enlarge It is kind of difficult to read all the descriptions even at the larger resolution, so if anyone wants a listing of all the cars I'll be happy to do so. Here are some closeups to give a better impression of the content. This first image is car number one on the poster and the second image is the last one that was included. Here's some of the noteworthy non-Formula One cars including a couple I had no knowledge of previously. These are also clickable: In regards to this last one which was perhaps the most surprising to see, McLaren doing a modern day LMP car with Gordon Murray's input would have been a pretty incredible venture. Shame it never came to fruition. >8^) ER |
