vr4 engine swap

ok this guy who wants to race me says that he has a VR4 engine swap in his 3000gt. this would have to be done with the tranny and AWD right? i'm just asking to make sure he's not BS'ing.

Re: vr4 engine swap

you dont have to have awd w/ the swap, i've never seen the awd conversion done along w/ the vr4 engine swap before, but race him and find out if he's bs'ing.

Re: vr4 engine swap

You can do the VR4 swap without the drivetrain, it bolts right to the FWD trans. You can also weld the center diff and remove the VCU and it will make an AWD trans a FWD trans.

For info on the AWD conversion www.bobthegreat.com

sorry bro not racing for money, I just barely have enough for gas right now. If u wanna race me at a real race track (Lebanon valley dragway) near the end of the summer, maybe i'll race for money, not that much though.

and yeah get an LSD if u don't wanna do one wheels burnouts...those arent too good for the car

Re: vr4 engine swap

The only safe way is to get a LSD, you can weld the front diff together making the wheels turn at the same speed no matter what, however this often results in loss of control of a vehicle around turns.

Re: vr4 engine swap

Also, not sure if you know what an LSD is, its a limited slip differential.
