What can I get for $1500?

^ topic
what can i get for US$1500?

: chasing over SQL - approx. 60% SQ 40% SPL
: listens to hip-hop - hard bass hitting music, ludacris, lil john...
: a nissan X-terra - plenty of space
: enclosure type - ported/sealed/bandpass?
: not aiming at competition, just a competition between friends - vs. SPL's
: need design idea - 1 sub/2 sub?
: US$1500 for items only

thanks for recomendations!

EDIT: $1500 for items only. excluding enclosures ect...

I'm confused....sound quality and that stuff you just listed are basically polar opposites

are you actually going for sound quality or just something that won't be constantly bottoming out and distorting?

yeah... that's what i mean.

Subs= 3 DVC 10" SX10D4 Directed subs
Amp= d2400 Directed Audio digital amp with remote gain
Enclosure would could easily be either a sealed box @ about 1.5-2cu/ft or a ported box @ 2.25-3.5cu/ft being tuned to 35htz depending on what you really want this to hit the hardest at. You should have enough left over to buy a small amp and componet set for the fronts which will be very important so the system doesn't sound too back heavy.

What ever you do remember that the install and the enclosure are the 2 main important things that you can not over look. I hate it when I see people buy half decent stuff then through it all in with cheap wires and a prefab box. It almost never fails that they then ask me why "cheaper" system sounds so much better than theirs

Yeah but with the money I thought that would be a neat setup plus I saw what you like to listen to. 2 subs are plenty for me in my Liberty!!!!

PONCHO STFU!!!!!!!!!
U n3ed 2 g3t s0m3 reAl St3re0 1n y0' car!!111!!!
Directed Sux!!!!
100% pwned....

Looka single RE SX 18.... because you listen to mostly rap XBL^2 will just add to the cost for no extra SQ. so the SX will do fine, since it acutally has the ability to get louder than the XXX

Hifonics BX1800D
REaudio RE componet sets
Pheonix Gold Xenon 100.4
some sort of EQ

big ported tuned around 30Hz....

then upgrade the big 3 and maybe slap a new altinator under the hood....

oh and if you get hte componet set and you think you need some rear fill just get a mid quality coaxle and you'll be fine...

Well according to most that were at the SEMA show last month, yes. Now, you'll hear the same people on here tout adire or RE all day long. Personally, I do not like them because their setup is old school. Yes, they are low powered which is great but they usually need unusually large enclosures. Unless you want to have to mess with the rear suspension because of all the added weight, look for something that requires little space to sound good. I use to have a lot of locals talk shit about DEI until they heard what they are actually about. Same goes for the idiots on here. They've never actually heard a real DEI system but they'll play like they know what they are talking about.

Remember, no matter what you pick, the install is ALWAYS the key to an awesome sounding system.
