Well. i'd have to go with the JL over the audiobahn.. I think as far as sound goes they are both kick azz subs, however it seems like it takes a lot less power to make any JLs thump harder. JLs seem more sensative to power which to me makes them a better deal (less money on amp etc..)... Either way they are both very good subs!

It takes less power to make JL thump harder because they do not offer the insane power handling that Audiobahn does. Sort of like cars... you need to figure out your needs, if you have a wife and two kids and need to carry grocceries every weekend ~ obviously a Ferrari isnt for you. Every subwoofer company is differant in what they make and comparing Audiobahn to JL is like comparing a Ferrari to a Minivan... both have their uses, what you are going to use them for determines which one gets YOUR vote... my vote?

Audiobahn all the way!

put it like this. i want my system to make the ground shake and set off car alarms with it. out of those two which one would be possible to do this and how many subs will i need and how many watts to go to it. i was thinking two or three 12w6's with a 1500 watt power acoustik amp and have the speakers wired just as they show in the jl audio site to make it run at 1.5 ohm load if i was running two and at 1 ohm if i was running three. by the way the amp model that i'm going with might either be the gothic, e-pulse or a quicksilver model.

Check the specs on your amps my friend, there are NO PowerAcoustik amps that will run at 1 ohm, or 1.5 ohms for that matter... the lowest they are rated at is either 2 ohms stereo or 4 ohms mono.

I could set off car alarms with just 2 of my JL W6s, and when I hooked up all 4, I raised hell. I had 1000 watts going to each of them, and they were amazing. I went to a car stereo competition once, and I was driving through the parking lot showing off my system. And every other car I drove by the alarm went off. I highly recommend JL Audio W6s, they will shake the ground, make your chest feel like it's going to explode, make you lose your hearing, and give you the bass you want.

I had an 2 Obcon boxes, each one with 2 subs in it. Each sub was pushed by an MTX 2150x amp.
