Re: Esci Mercedes 450 SLC - differently

Thank you Mikhail for your kind offer! In fact, I was searching through my photoetches and found that the Studio27 BMW M3 photoetch includes some parts for the DTM Mercedes 190 evo and has the 4mm star on it as well. Thanks again anyway! Daswiesel, Rescuemodels is a new company, my example was a prototype which worked really well, as you could see on the photos. You can find them on fb or can contact them at robert@rescuemodels.com
The Mercedes is almost finished needs some final etched parts and paint touch ups.

Re: Esci Mercedes 450 SLC - differently

Finally, after a long build, the Mercedes has reached the finish line. The "old faithful" kit deserved the work I put in it after patiently waiting more than 20 years. Esci engineered it very well and it is an excellent base for a build. With few extra details it can be a nice addition to the rally collection. I hope to see more of this old Mercedes build here.

Re: Esci Mercedes 450 SLC - differently

Sorry but you put more than "a few extra détails" into this build Corrado ! It's a totally new kit, even if, as you stated it, the base is ggod.
Congratulations, very inspiring for my future Mikkola Codasur 80 project, even though it will be much simplier and certainly a curbside model

Thanks a lot! I stumbled across their facebook page but couldn´t find anything like your stencil or even what they are doing, so I thought I was wrong there.

That SLC is looking awsome! So many lovely details, very nice!

Re: Esci Mercedes 450 SLC - differently

Thank you guys for your kind words! It is really a great kit to build. Despite it's age, it captures really well the shape and details. Chris, I hope to see your rally Argentina build soon. That was one of my option as well but I did not find much material on the web from that rally, that's why I went for the portugal version.
