final exaust question
Today i decided to just go ahead and get an entire new exaust setup, so i went to 3sx and i just want to make sure i am getting the right stuff. a 96 is cali-spec so i need to make sure i get that downpipe, i am getting the straight through pipe to replace the cat, and i am getting the borla exaust. Do i need anything else? With the cat-back leading to the downpipe leading to the skipped cat. How much would it be for me to get someone to install the cat-back exaust and the downpipe? I will have to do the test pipe myself for emmsions legallity issues, hehehe.

Re: final exaust question
the exhaust is simple to put on your self as it is a direct bolt on, have you thought of a custom exhaust? its usually cheaper and you design it. all you do is buy the mufflers and take it to a muffler shop so they can build you and exhaust

i doubt a place like midas will, just find a local muffler shop, check the yellow pages or something, i'm sure you can find one. I just used their glasspacks, and my custom 3 inch dual catback with dual glasspack mufflers ran me only $250, and i'm not dissappointed the slightest bit

Re: final exaust question
Nah, just bring them the mufflers you want and tell them how thick you want the catback pipes and if you want dual exits or just one (personally i think dual looks better) and they will build it for you real cheap with their own pipes. That's what I did on my last car and it ran me 200. I went to a Monroe muffler(a chain here in NY) and just asked, and they said they could'nt do it as a store, but a guy who worked there told me he would do it. I have 2 friends who have had custom exhausts built and bolted on by meineke in Philadelphia. So just ask around.

Re: final exaust question
So all i need to have is the mufflers and they will do the rest? What are some good mufflers? Is it worth it to get a performance one?

Re: final exaust question
I live in binghamton, like 3 and half hours from the city...I'd personally get a performance muffler, otherwise your exhaust might drone at certain speeds which can get irritating. So go for something that sounds/looks good.
And like tearz said, just go to any muffler shop and ask. |

a lot of times if you go to a local muffler shop instead of a big name muffler shop like meineke, it'll usually save you some money due to better prices
