2002 Dodge Ram
I was plannin on purchasing a new Toyota Tundra. Then this shit with Jesse Jackson came up so I won't be buying any Toyotas. So I think I'll go for a 2002 RAM. Does anyone have one of these yet? I was considering maybe waiting until next year for the new engines to come out, but I wanted some feed back on the 02's. Any Comments?

Hmmm...read the offroader mags, there was one that rated the best pickups of 01-02. Ram came out on top i think. Its a good deal, get the bigger engine though.

At first, I didn't like the look, but it's starting to grow on me. If you buy now, go with the bigger 360cid engine. My Ram has the 318cid, and it's OK, just feels a tad under powered at times for such a heavy truck. You may want to hold out though. I have heard rumors that Dodge may re-release the hemi in upcoming years. Just food for thought.

my 02 dodge
:silly2: I just bought my 02 a week ago. They have really redesigned this truck. We did have a 01 Dodge but we traded that in for our 02. I have a 4x2 quad cab and it has alot of neat things. In the back you can pull up the seats and theres storage under there. Then you also have the option to pull out a metal shelf from under the seats. That can hold 600 lbs on that alone. Our truck came w/ 20 inch rims. I think that this truck really is a great one to own. It idols good at a stop and the stereo system is great, although that will prolly get upgraded with more speakers. The only thing that I could suggest would be to go and drive one and check it out. We now have 800 miles on ours. Hope that this helped some.

My New Ram
I think its a great truck bro. I have had mine almost two weeks and love it. I love the look, the power, the feel behind the wheel and the looks the ladies give it and me :0). I'll definitely trick it out as soon as some more companies start making some aftermarket stuff for it. I have done very little to it so far, but it's a great truck, you wont be dissapointed.
There is supposed to be a hemi available in '03 I believe and also the "Viper" powered version is supposed to debut sometime next year as an '04 I think. My buddy at the dealer said its gonna be pretty phat and also pricey. Right now the Rams all have the 2nd generation magnum engines and they feel good to me. I have the 4.7L and there is a 6cyl available and also a 5.2 I think or maybe its still a 5.9 But all I can say is check em out, you might like em. KB |

Those Rams look awesome. Those are the best looking Rams I've seen. The new design looks cool. It makes the older Rams look too plan. I know first had how the older ones look, because one of my relatives has a '94 Ram. :o :licker: :silly2:

5.2 L Engine
For what its worth I like the new look, and the quad cab is very nice. A couple of guys I work with have new Rams with Hemi's. I own a 2000 Ram 4X4 extra cab with the 5.2L and 3.92 rear. Here's where the Hemi guys all yell at me, but it has plenty of power, and I work mine quite a bit, including pulling a car and trailer occasionally. Being a do it yourself type, the thing I liked about the 5.2 is that they have been making that engine forever, and even todays design is pretty simple to work on. Nothing against the Hemi, but with 4 valves per cyl, and dual plugs, there's a lot of moving parts in there. That's not a problem when its under warranty, but if you are the type like I am where the next guy to own one of your vehicles comes in with a stretcher to haul it to the junk yard, I'd recommend the 5.2.
