Men Of The Automotive Order. Vandalizing cars.

I want to discuss two topics here. One is the vandalization of another man's car out of spite. I have a co-worker who anytime he gets into an argument or has a problem with someone he tryes to take it out on thier car by slashing tires, keying, smashing windows ect..I know none of us would ever do this, car people have a cardinal rule against not messing with another man's car. But is there even an exception? would you seriously ever take it out on a person's car for any reason?

the second topic is the vandalization of a man's car for the sake of comedy.
remember SlowproceSS?
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=678404

I know it may look funny and despite the fact that its trditional to do this at weddings I think this goes beyond tradition and into wrongness.
Have any of you ever tryed to get dryed shaving cream off weather stripping? its a pain. think of the cost of materials needed to clean said mess up and think of the 4 or 5 hours required to clean it.

A simple "just married" written on the windshields and a couple of cans tied to the back would of sufficed.

lets hear some opinions men.

I think the exception would be if they messed up your car then you have all right to mess up theirs (assuming of course they dont already have a beat up old POS) It's called Karma, what goes around comes around, and I think you have all rights to dish out your own karma if they mess your ride for pretty much no reason.

I'm not really a very vengeful kind of guy, but once it's down to my car... better watch your head

...Well, not the car I'm stuck driving right now, though...

Re: Men Of The Automotive Order. Vandalizing cars.

I can think of some circumstances where I may feel like I wanted to do harm to someone's car. Maybe say if they completely fucked up my car like those assholes who ripped my door panels, dome light, and my entire stereo out of my car. I would have absolutely no problem taking a bat to their auto. However, if I were in an argument (even a very heated up one) I would never do anything to their car in spite. I think the only way I could see doing harm to one's vehicle is if they have already done likewise to me.

Oh, and vadalizing for comedy is never OK IMO.

For that, I wouldn't have a problem taking the bat to them

Re: Men Of The Automotive Order. Vandalizing cars.

unless the enemy has done wrong to your car. attacking another mans car should be a MOTAO sin!

having fun with your car for happy reasons..as long as its not a pain to fix or its not really hurting the car...hell let it be...maybe your car like a little non racing fun sometimes

Re: Men Of The Automotive Order. Vandalizing cars.

If someone does something to my car, I don't go after thier car, I go after them.

I don't consider decorating it up for a wedding or parade or what not all that bad as long as it is done within reason, and easy to clean. Of course, easy to clean is all relative, as two months ago I was using a credit car to break the ice around the weather striping and pannels on my car just to get into it...

So, yeah, vandalizing someone elses car out of spite-WRONG
Decorating a car for a joyous occasion within reason-OK

Re: Men Of The Automotive Order. Vandalizing cars.

I disagree that vandalizing a car because they did it to you is ok. If thats so then they will just keep comming after your car and you at thiers, it never ends.
also a car cant really defend itself which means assulting it is a bitch move! only a coward would attack something that cant fight back.
some one messes with my ride, i mess them up. not thier rides!

Re: Men Of The Automotive Order. Vandalizing cars.

Vandalizing cars is just plain stupid. If you wanna mess with someone just leave crap at the foot of the doorstep of their house/apartment. I remember egging some dudes car across the windshield. Mind you I didn't know that if you egged paint it would take off the paint (I found out the hardway, as someone didn't egg my windshield, but did egg my driver's door rear panel).

Anyways, i'd say a carlaw would be to never mess with a friend/co-worker's car. At most i'd say messing with the windshield would be ok if it is dirty (Such as writing wash me).

What they did to Slowprocess's car was a little over board in my opinion. Dunno if that left any smudges that couldn't be lifted from the car.

The way I see it, their car didn't vandalize your car, so why punish it. Unless, of course, you are in the mafia. Then it makes sense.

Re: Men Of The Automotive Order. Vandalizing cars.

I'm don't think anyone should vandalize anyone's car for any reason. If someone messes with your car, fuck them up, plain and simple. For example: A couple of my friends thought it would be funny to color over all my windows with window chalk. I didn't laugh. I don't think they can have kids anymore. Steel-toe boots will do that.

In all honesty Musashi this is how I feel about it. Yes, if I know who completely destroyed my shit and stole everything I would probably not screw with their car. I would hopefully have the ability to keep my cool so I could file a report. And I would definately screw with their car before I would go after them personally because I have already had priors before this and when I fight I don't just go give em' a good whoopin, I would probably kill them. So I would not go fuck with their car, but I would see nothing wrong with it if some were to afterwards. And I know we call our cars "baby" and "she" but I would not act like the car is a person giving it characterisitics like "it is defenseless" or anything like that, because you screwing with the person ultimately, not the "soul" of a car. That is just my ourlook on things.

Re: Men Of The Automotive Order. Vandalizing cars.

no, vandalizing a car is wrong.

NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENED.

insurance can fix a car in a small amount of time. Broken legs, knees, arms, etc. leave permanent memories. and it also ensures to them that you are not also a coward, and that they will no longer go after your car. Car on car violence will only lead to more car on car violence.

When harm is done to one's car, it is not ok to do harm to the other's. However, if they opt to have you do damage to their car instead of their person, it may be permitted. As well as a swift kick in the ass.
