Bad dealer, Bad

Guys - I'm mad.....

Check engine light came on a month ago - finally was able to get the car to the dealer this monday (no loaner they were out).
So my girlfriend followed me and I drove the 50+ minutes to the dealer (Infiniti of Cincy). Drop the car off go home.
Get a call next afternoon "We reset the computer, it had an EVAP code - you must have left the gas cap loose" - I explained that the EVAP system on my '98 200sx kicked the bucket once and I knew to tighten the cap - plus the light came on with 1/4 tank I hadn't filled up in a long time. But they persist "We drove it for over 1/2 an hour with no problems" "Also nothing wrong with the rear brakes"

Soooo I picked it up yesterday. As I leave the dealer lot after the 50+min drive with my Gfriend following again the brakes make that awful sound again - I shake my head.....

This morning - check engine light comes on again!

Sorry - but this just insn't service.....

I called the first time I needed an oil change "Well we can get you in 3 1/2 weeks from today if you want a loaner or 2 weeks if not" 2 weeks for an oil change?

And service is no better - rear brakes sound awful at low speeds.

So I'll be making my THIRD trip to the dealer next friday in 6 months....

Not happy.....

Chris

Dealer: :rocket:

wait til they put all those surprise charges, "we need to diagnose your car and that will cost an additional $50, then we have the ridiculous service charge of $100, moving on, we have the car cover charge of $30, the vacuum charge of $20, car watch charge of $75, and so on. "

ouch, that totally sucks... man, it's bad enough that the service engine light comes on only after 6months (mine did too...a few times which totally pissed me off) and to have to take it back 50min away twice..that's a killer. and the heck did they do to the brakes?!

i basically sat and waited for my g to be diagnosed and fixed. took them about an hour wasnt too bad. might wanna just wait at the dealer while they work on it next time...well, that's if you can get some time off at work.

That sucks! I had several "dealer problems" with my other car-
The last incident... it was in the shop and I was at work, Little sis was on her way back from school and spotted them driving my car to to the local pizza place and the guy was smoking in it!!! Needless to say she called me immediately and I went up there and screamed all kinds of stuff at them....then I went and traded it for my lovely 99 g20t...

Good luck!

Just a couple days ago, I had called about the badges on the trunk. The guy on the phone quoted me $60 for em. I went in and got some other work done to my car and without me even knowing, they charged me $90 instead. I thought the extra price was because of the clear side lights I asked them to put on (which they never did).
Anyways, I went in today again and was going to wait for them to fix a piece of my car (the window control panel comes off). I wait for arund 40 minutes, and then the guy tells me that they ordered the wrong piece and that I would have to come in tomorrow.
These dealerships really blow and I am personally fed up with them.
Try to stay away from these little bastards if you can!

Im in Kentucky also, why did you drive all the way to Cincy anyways?

I bought my G20 new just recently from Glenn Infiniti of Lexington, where I go to college and they seem to have GREAT service! If you need their number, let me know. Every salesman and the main service people know me well because I have had them order parts for me as well as they constantly track the progress of modifications to my car since they are VERY FEW modified Gs around here.

Anyways, get back wit me.

I laughed when I read this post. Not saying that it is funny that they went to the pizza place, but rather the fact that they had the nerve to smoke in you sh*t. That would have been a beatdown, if he was a svc guy or not.

Ah, I see what you mean...
I have a few friends at college up that way, I go to EKU myself.

Never the less, interested in being in an audio competition team?

Just curious.
We are sponsored, by the way

Lemme know

LOL you may not have seen any of my old posts - I work at Clarion :-P
At one time when I was 16 I competed in SPL locally and did pretty well - now I'm more into SQ. So far I haven't torn up the G20 to install anything - but when I do as long as I show the car anything I want is free...... I'd have to see if I'm allowed to join a club like that since I'd guess technially speaking clarion would be my sponsor.....
I used to goto UK - a bunch of my buds went to EKU.

Send me some info on your club though.

best thing to do

Dump that car, and dealership. That's what I did, and I filed for the lemon law. Best decision I ever made I had the same problem as you with the darn cap on my Trailblazer.
