Speedometer Sensors
I was told that my 99 dodge ram witha 360 motor and a automatic tranny has 2 speed sensors. One is located one the clear back of the tranny by the transfor case. Where is the other one located at on my truck?

Re: Speedometer Sensors
It should be stuck in the front of the axle, or the diff. I don't have my truck here right now so I can't look and find out exactly, but I remember seeing it either stuck into the axle, or the front of the diff itself...

Re: Speedometer Sensors
That sensor in the front differential apparently illuminates your "4X4" light in the dash. The speedo sensor is supposed to be stuck in the back differential.

Re: Speedometer Sensors
I replaced the speed sensor in my rear diff and my brake and abs light went out.

Re: Speedometer Sensors
If you ask for that they tell me there is only one and it is in the tranny. And they said the one is in the rear diff., they are telling me it is a abs sensor.

Re: Speedometer Sensors
Its called a "wheel speed sensor" This is where the computer gets vehicle speed from. Well, for the rear tires anyways. Its on the rear axle housing. Right on the very top, with the brake line going over it.
