Question about driving without front diff
I've ordered Calmini's front LSD and am planning to pull the front diff to drop off somewhere to have the LSD installed. My question is, what can I fuck up by driving aroung a day or two without the front diff installed? I am planning to yank the half axles and front propeller shaft.

I don't see any concern other than the front wheel bearings being exposed.

Re: Question about driving without front diff
Ancient thread revival, but since I came across this searching for something else...
Anyone else considering this, leave the CV/halfshafts in place, just let the inner ends rest on whatever's below them. As long as your hubs are unlocked, they'll be fine. A friend of mine did this for a couple of weeks, and I went without my front diff for a couple of months, no problem. We both have manual hubs, but there's no reason you coudn't do it with auto hubs too. Brent (still waiting for a good opportunity to test out that front LSD) |
