Fuel Economy of Fuel Injection

I have a 93 3.2 SOHC 5speed manual and I was wondering whether or not the fuel injectors shut off as you are coasting in gear. In other words, am I saving more fuel by coasting down a hill in gear or idling in neutral? As fuel prices are rising I've been paying more attention to how to save fuel and have been pondering this for quite some time. Thanks.
