Post No more 280hp limit in Japan!

On June 10, Japan Auto manufacturers agreed to abolish the 280 HP agreement. From now on, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, etc. can manufacture cars 280+hp from their factory. Wooohooooooo.

Watch out, Ferrari and Lamborghini!!

Just what Japan needs: High horsepower cars in a land that doesn't have the highways to allow for high speeds. I know...the Americans will buy them, but not me.

Re: No more 280hp limit in Japan!

Hell yeaaaa. You are just mad cause now the Jap's are gonna build cars that not only look better, but are faster from the factory. Hate on me all you want...I come from a domestic car family and I also own a domestic car along with an import

Hmmmm. The next Supra is overdue to be released. I've heard rumors that a V12 idea has been thrown around. Interesting.

Re: No more 280hp limit in Japan!

i believe honda will still stay in their low hp rating...but still make good cars...i believe their acura division will continue to make faster high hp cars...but i do think that soon hondas SI's will have higher hp...hopefully

mabey honda will come ut with some newer faster models and not put everything in Acura

Re: No more 280hp limit in Japan!

I would definately keep my eyes on Nissan and Toyota.

I heard Mitsubishi is going under in 3 or 4 years...is this a rumor or true?

Re: No more 280hp limit in Japan!

Mitsubishi might be going down, especially with all that mess about not recalling problems with their cars. Sounds like another Enron almost..lol

Ford is bringing back the 5.0 Mustang
Toyota is bringing back the supra

My bid is on the supra :P

I used to be a Project Engineer for GM, and after they laid me off, I went to work for Toyota. I worked in China, and Mexico for GM, and Indiana, and Kentucky for Toyota. Domestic ain't so Domestic, and Imports ain't so Imported. Buy what you like and drive em like you stole em.
