Diablo, stock R34 GT-R and a tuned R34 GT-R (both V Spec IIs). Oh, and the bikes that constantly go past my house - cruiser bikes and sports bikes. I've got a highly regarded bike next to my house, one road away, but as I am not into bikes, I don't know which one

Cars all the way for me

My friends 78 Trans Am he had in high school. It had a pretty stout 400 in it. Sounded awesome. Can't beat header noise, cam lope, and some deep exhaust. Another good one is a Camaro that is a local racer it has a smallblock with one chamber flowmasters sounds real good.

Being a muscle car man, nothing sounds better to me than a V8 with 2 1 7/8 inch headers, 2 1/4 inch exhaust that splits into two 2 inch, then goes to 3 1/2 inch tips, that thing crackles unbelievbley easy, it's so awesome, as well as other V-8's, the new Hemi's are awesome too. And my dad's 1992 Dyna Low rider with 2 inch Vance and Hines Long shots, without the baffles in them, then he has a more aggressive cam where the exhuast duration is much different than stock, that thing redlines at 5 grand, and I revved it to 3 grand and my ears popped, they didnt go back to normal for about an hour, and my friend who was 10 feet from it ran away from it and started yelling at me for it, you have to wear ear plugs when riding it.

my car with the right exhaust and intake sounds MEAN. It has a pretty wicked V-6 and was actually voted one of the best sounding stock engines behind a Porsche and Aston Martin.

A V-8 engine with 180° headers sound pretty good. A lot of circle track cars use them. A high revving V-8 with a good set of headers leading into a large 3 or 3 1/2 SINGLE exhaust pipe with a big flowmaster or superflow muffler sounds similar. Both have an exotic high-pitched sound quality.

6 cylinder Boxer engines between 4000 and 7000 RPMs sound great as well.

I'm not a big fan of V-6, I-4 or I-5 engine sounds.

My 73 SD-455 Trans Am. Cam, round port exhaust manifolds into 2.5 pipes. through dynomax muffs.
I ain't kidding, I would get wood when I first got it and idled.
Would run 12's in the 1320.

My best friend's got a pretty mean sounding '92 Camaro RS, but it doesn't hold a candle to my uncle's '67 Plymouth Belvedere GTX. This thing's got a 440 in it, and it had no mufflers the first time I heard it...it's enough to get my adrenaline pumping just -thinking- about it!

I was at a gas station fillin' up and this guy in a lamborghini pulls up at like 50 mph and downshifts and stops real fast. It was like a big roaring jetplane, . . .i thought i was dreaming.

Re: Favorite engine sounds

Too difficult to choose one. Diablo / F40 / Vanquish / 993GT2 all sound great

The best motor that I've heard is a 572 Chevy with a ton of mods. That thing had to have made at least like 1000hp and it was in a truck. The truck is my dad's friends, so I get to see it everyday. I just love that deep American muscle sound.
