Aftermarket Bumper Cover
I posted this in the Camry forum but virtually no response so I'm posting it here. Has anyone had any experience with aftermarket bumper covers? Mine needs replaced and I'm considering aftermarket since they're less than a third of the cost of OEM's. I'm not talking about body kits, just your basic stock looking replacements available all over the 'net. Need one for a 98 Camry - front.
Thanks,

Re: Aftermarket Bumper Cover
Generally aftermarket parts are fine for non-insurance work.
Generally, OEM parts are intended for insurance claim work, where the obligation is to return the car to the same condition it was before the damage, or if the car is particularly valuable. However, the cost of OEM parts makes little sense if the car is getting old and there is no insurance company footing the bill. Usually, non OEM parts are just fine, once in a while they need a bit of work, (trimming etc) to fit perfectly. Personally, I would use non OEM parts without hesitation. |
