Re: does the car live up to the legend?

the turbo buicks of 86 an 87 were the fastest production cars... in america. but they prolly only consider the GNX to be the fastest because of its fame. but either way, ur answer is yes.

Re: does the car live up to the legend?

To answer your question....YES! It took me 20 years to get where I needed to be to own one. The 86 and 87 are intercooled and are the same except for the grill. The 86 had way less produced and the 87 had over 20,000 produced. The 87 seem to have a bigger market because of it being the last year produced. The GNX was the fastest production car in 1987 and smoked the Vette. It had a better flowing Turbo and a few other little goodies. But these are going from $60000 to $80000 right now. Do not forget about the T-type! Exactly the same as a GN but in other colors. They are cheaper than the GN but are just as lethal! I have a 87 GN with about $5000 in upgrades and run high 10s, then change my tires and drive home. Oh yea A/C blows cold too. Does not have a loud rumble and this can be very misleading! Nothing like completly destoying a Cobra with flowmasres in a black "Granny car". Yes there are plenty of faster cars out there but not as classy. I have owned Camaros, GTOs (real ones) and Chevelles and I will always owne a Turbo Regal.
