interchangable wheels

My son has a 96 Elantra that has had it's share of problems. The latest is vibrating wheels at speeds above 45 MPH. Both the ball joints were worn and the cv shafts both had broken boots, but the tie rods are still in good shape. We have replaced cv axles and lower ball joints, retested for movement in the wheels, and things seem tightened up now. But still, the vibration is progressively getting worse each day.
A trip to the tire store to look at the almost new tires, revealed 3 of the 4 wheels rims were bent. The car has had not run over any pot holes nor has it had any bumps into gutters or ran over any debris of any kind since we purchased the new tires. I would have thought the tire store would have detected the bent rims when they balance the new tires at the beginning! But they didn't.
We have looked for a set of used rims, but were finding that rims are in sort supply except for the new ones, which are sort of out of reach for the fiances at this time. Are there other cars that use the same rims as the Elantra that we could try out?
Has any one had similar problems? Thanks in advance.

Re: interchangable wheels

Based on google search, I found:

Factory: 4 x 114.3 mm / 14" @ 5.5" wide (optional 6" wide for P195 rubber) using 4 lugs

Factory Default: P175/65R14 81H
Optional: P195/60R14 85H

With above in mind, simply visit any Specialized Tire store and they will cross reference the above specs, and they will advise what other model of cars will fit (your specific Elantra).

Hope this helps...
