Lightbulb 5.3 Rev and shift points for 2003

Could someone please help me out I have just bought a new Hypertech power programmer for my 2003 Silverado with a 5.3 motor, I am new at this so i am looking for some tip on what to do to increase my HP and run a better.

93 octane
5900 Rev limit
Top speed H 128mph
shift points 1-2 +1mph
2-3 +8mph
3-4 +5mph
Shift Firmness-On

And that should do it

P.S. only do it this aggressive if you have Intake, Exhaust, Headers, and 160* tstat

i suggest tryin to find a salvage yards and look for a 2500hd it has a 14bolt rear and is stronger than a dana 60. And if you dont know the dana 60 is vertually indistructable but it cost about 2200 bucks or you can get the 2500 HD which is stronger and it should only be about 800-1100 bucks

/\This should be a good basis for the small block V8's. Only way to truley know is to test at the track and see what works best for you as stated in the instruction manual that comes with the hypertech.

/\Awhile back I was going from Flagstaff to Phoenix and traffic was hauling ass so I took a pic of the speedo since that was the fastest I had ever gone.

5900 rpm's? Is that safe for the engine? I know you said turn shift firmness on, but can a 4L60-E take this?

The 5.3's were dyno'd at 6000, while continuously running a stock engine at these rpms would certainly not be good for it, occasionally shouldn't hurt it.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm shifting out the 6.0L at around 6400rpms. Only reason I'm not going up to 6500 is because I'm already maxing out the stock injectors, so I'm holding their until I get the 43lbers. The 4l60e will last alot longer with the firmness on. My first tranny lasted 126,000 with the firmness on, and it was still chirping second when I sent it in for the core charge. The only time the 4l60e starts to have real problems is when torque management is removed without a shift kit or at least a corvette servo. You should ride in a truck with 0% torque management sometime. It feels like an entirely different truck between shifts.

An Eaton rear end is the "only" way to go in these trucks. You will not break it, and if you do, it wasn't put in right. No way a bolt on truck will ever hurt an Eaton.

Slo- Do you consider the hypertech tuner as a shiftkit? Do you know how much a vette servo would cost. Most importantly though, Shouldn't trannys last a hell of a lot longer than 126K. Thanks for your time.
