changing water pump on 93 jimmy
could someone tell me if this is for the backyard mechanic or the professional about a $300.00 difference to do it myself

Replacing the water pump on a '93 is straight forward. Fan clutch unbolts, uses green coolant, NOT the orange Dexcool, no hidden bolts. When it's all said and done, it's a gravy job. A little over an hour start to finish. If you run a search in the Blazer forum, you'll probably find a "How-To" with pictures and everything!

I have found the shaft that runs from the pully to the fan is round anyone nknow how to hold this so fan and fan clutch can be removed

Loosen the nuts before removing the belt. The belt will keep the pump shaft from turning while you loosen the nuts.

yes it did unbolt from front changed it out and let it run, ran a little on the hot side with cold air blowing from the heater put more antifreeze in and let it run again temp around 210 and heat was coming from heater will let it cool down for the night and recheck in the morn.
