1993 transmission question
I have a 1993 Mark VIII, and on the transmission oil pan there is a sticker. It reads something like:
"Prior to August 1993 Do Not service transmission call 1-800-551-0692. Refer to TSB 92-22" Please tell me that my transmission is not a "non servicable" unit. I have the ubiqutous 1-2 Accumulator problem along with a pretty good lock-up shudder. What does this sticker mean? Can this trans. be repaired? Thanks, Brian |

Re: 1993 transmission question
Its fixable. Rip the sticker off and enjoy. The shudder can be rectified with a treatment of Mercon V. The TSB on there is for the shudder and accumulator Im sure.

Re: 1993 transmission question
Thanks. Someone at the parts store told me that, with the sticker, it was unserviceable. Something about riveted valve body or something.
Hopefully he was full of it. |
