Skyline engines are the RB series, not SR. The common swaps are RB25DET and RB26DETT. The SR20DET was found in the J-Spec 13,S14 and S15 Silvias. As for your question, the engine will "fit", and you can make anything work with enough time, money and fabrication.

why would you want a longer, heavier RB in a G20?SR's can pump the power-a-plenty...

Your G20 already has a SR engine.
SR engines are inline, four cylinder, twin overhead camshaft 16 valve EFI. RB engines are inline, six cylinder, twin overhead camshft 24 valve EFI. Both series are turbo capable and have factory turbo version... There are many iterations of both engines and plenty of members here better placed to tell you all the models but here are some basics... SR is usually front wheel drive except when used in 200sx [RWD] and Pulsar GTiR[4WD].RB is allways rear wheel drive or 4wd. Forget RB. SR's come in 1800cc and 2000cc ie SR18DE and SR20DE.(140-150Hp) There are turbo SR18DET and SR20DET (190-230Hp), then there's the Neo VVL SR16VE (175Hp), SR20VE (190 Hp) which is a lot like a vtec engine. The power figures I give are all approximate, but close, and are stock outputs fo each engine at the flywheel. All the SR's will fit in your G20 with little or no modifications and suit the Frontwheel drive application |

Re: Skyline sr20 engine
I've got a 75 MGB that im interested in shoehorning one of these SR20's into if at all possible. as per the previous threads, is the 200sx the only RWD version I can get my hands on, or was there one from a skyline as well? where would a person start looking for such an engine?

SR18DE and SR20DE motors are EASY to come by... look for Infiniti G20 or Nissan Primeras at scrap yards. Most of the G20s from the "early years" (91-93.5) are considered "high port", which *supposedly* made a huge difference in the auto gearboxes. From 94-96 the engine code was the same but were "low port". I had a 93 stick, and it put out some decent power for a lil 2.0L 4-banger. I will say the SR20DE motor is pretty rock solid... but why would you bugger an MGB for a Nissan motor? Stick with the Old Skool, IMHO.
