Transmission
Hello, have a 2004 Mercury Sable with 52k.
Transmission stopped working unexpectedly. Any ideas? |

Re: Transmission
That's a pretty common problem with the Ford Taurus/ Mercury Sable of that period. It usually can't be fixed by flushing the transmission or minor repairs. The most effective option is usually a transmission rebuild or replacement. You can cross your fingers and try checking the shifter cable, but be prepared for the worst case scenario. If the cable is ok, your transmission is probably f*cked.
