E-Series Van 1992-2007 front-right exterior door handle removal?

E-Series Van 1992-2007 front-right exterior door handle removal?
replacement handle fits 1992-2007

inside door panel is removed
locking mechanism is visible
handle mounting rivets are drilled out
handle is loose

How do we disconnect the handle linkage???

NOTE: the handle cannot be pulled through the opening until the linkage is disconnected.

Disconnect rods to electric door lock actuator if equipped. Should be a plastic piece behind door handle. Use a screwdriver pry out with screwdriver should be a slot. Should have torx type fastener.
