Re: HELP!!! Weird Headlight Problem (01 Caravan)
Had the same problem as many.
Did the flat pin twist & also added some Copper anti-seize (conductive) into the female pins. They loved it! So far, all is good. Thanks to cara01 |

Eh. No offense to cara01 but he only quoted Walter Zoomie and he quoted... yours truly so you're welcome...if you're still around. The anti-sieze is a new twist. Hope the road is still bright ahead of you.

Re: HELP!!! Weird Headlight Problem (01 Caravan)
I had this problem with my 2003 Dodge Caravan. I removed the FCM (Front Control Module) and did the twisting of the blade connectors with needle nose pliers. I didn't torque the blades much, fearing it would damage or break the blade. I reinstalled the FCM, no change with the lights.
The next day I went back and tried something different. After removing the FCM again, I sprayed connections cleaner on the pins and blade, and then wiped clean. Then I used 150 grit sandpaper on the blades. (Tear off a small square piece, fold it to give it rigidity, insert and move back and forth above and below the blades.) I repeated the cleaning spray and wiping clean. I let it dry for about 20 minutes and then reinstalled. SUCCESS! SO relieved that this worked because I was resigned to only driving the van during daylight hours had it not worked. |

Re: HELP!!! Weird Headlight Problem (01 Caravan)
2001 Grand Caravan. Same problem. one running light, one side low beam light, other side bright light. Took off module and cleaned it up and replaced. Worked for about 3 weeks and same problem. Took apart again and twisted them a little and it worked again but only for one day. Bought a used module at junk yard and exact same issue. Then after reading post about pulling up on module when not tight, I tried that. It worked. If I held it up some the lights worked fine. So, I put a couple of washers on back side of the bottom two screws and installed it that way - it's a slight angle due to the washers at the bottom. So far that has worked. Obviously there is a connection issue with some of the pins. We'll see how long this fix works.
Update 18 April 2018. It has not failed again since I did the washer tilt trick 3 months ago. So, hoping it will stay that way. Last edited by dmannder; 04-18-2018 at 11:41 AM. Reason: UPDATE |
