Thermostat

Can someone please tell me where to find the thermostat on a 2004 Saturn Vue 4 cylinder 5 speed manual transmission. I have searched all over google and youtube with no success.

Thank you

Re: Thermostat

Welcome Aboard!

On the right side of the engine (rear in a transverse installation) there is a coolant pipe and fitting arrangement connected to the rear of the water pump. Within the clamshell fitting (where the heater hoses connect) there is a recess for the thermostat. Be careful in removal and disassembly since the bolts can seize and destroy the threads in the housing. Anti-seize compound on the bolts during assembly is a good idea.
