Could be I haven't been for a long time. Been too busy with school. The track was in bad shape, so hopefully they are reconditioning it. It's nice because it's down hill a little, but it was in terrible shape and very hard to hook up on in a FWD car. When I spin the tires in third gear pretty hard, there is a problem. Anyway, haven't been in a while but I'll check it out.

I'm in SD. About Carlsbad Raceway, to my understanding, the land was sold a while back and they were waiting for the lease to expire. I believe it will be a business park in the future. My personal best was 15.135 on a DOHC ZC in a 91 hatch with bolt ons only. I never got to hit that 14 second mark and now the track is closed.

That sucks so bad. That is the only close place to run a 1/4 mile. If they close Charlsbad for good the next closest place would be Pomona, right?

Re: SoCal anyone?
Sounds right. But yeah, Carlsbad is done for good. Only other places locally are Barona and Qualcomm, and Racelegal lost their funding already so their schedule of race events are always tentative based on if they can get funding for that particular night. Well two of my three cars are out of comission anyway so I couldn't race if I wanted to. LOL

What's in Borona for racing? Is it 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile? I go out there to gamble every once in a while.

LOL! Yeah man, I make my weekly deposit at the Barona National bank also. It's a 1/8th mile but they are open like all day Friday and Saturday. I heard the track is maintained really well and the traction is enough to snap some axles. I only went there once. I was told that you go past the casino for like a mile and you'll see it. Man, that was a straight lie, it was like five miles out even further into the mountains!! |

Is it just like 5 miles further down the same road and you will see it or would I need directions? How much does it cost too? I don't really care for Qualcolm Stadium. Parking lots don't make for very good tracks. It's better than nothing though.

Re: SoCal anyone?
Yeah, just go past the casino and eventually, you will see it on your left hand side. Fun road to drive on though. Semi twisty.

Re: SoCal anyone?
Crap! I just checked the website and I don't see anything for 1/8th mile drags anymore!
