WIP Ferrari 365GTS/4
Since there seems to be another Daytona in progres, I'd better to show my current project. Started it in the end of February, after my Modena was completed, so I'm somewhere near to completion now.
The kit is Fujimi's EM-series, bought some twenty years ago, but was left untouched into my stash when I quitted the hobby. Now it has got itīs second chance. The interior is almost done. Body is painted (Zero Giallo Fly), and got 2K clear this evening. Still waiting some polishing, BMF and some bits and pieces. So here some photos, where I am now: |

Ah...
it's always nice to see fujimi EM series build, still the best in parts count & accuracy! first thing first, are you gonna build the common pop-up headlights or the other sealed beam version?? i hope you can show us the latter type...since only fujimi kit supply both versions. have fun! marc SGP

Re: WIP Ferrari 365GTS/4
gee, my curiosity gets the better of my sleeping time!
ok, i've located a EM spare headlight assembly & tried the fitting myself... yes, initial dry-fitting proves the top panel is slightly oversized. i sanded down the sides slightly & it fits good! then comes the light holder, i have to position the holder exactly at the center of the top panel in order to get the whole assembly sit nicely into the car body... yes, getting the holder glued exactly at the center of the panel can be tricky, there's some free play! hopes this helps... marc SGP

Re: WIP Ferrari 365GTS/4
Oh, I have plenty of extra parts for this kit if you need them.

Re: WIP Ferrari 365GTS/4
Thanks for your warning, Marc! I suspected that there would be some trickery with the headlights. Fortunately they are so small, repainting them will not be a headache, if I have to adjust them by sanding.
And to BVC500, wish I had known this a couple of months ago, since I was missing the cylinder heads of this kit, fortunately found them from a Finnish modeller. |

Re: WIP Ferrari 365GTS/4
Little progress, I finished the underside of the hood, painted with a mix of Barley grey and aluminium.
The model was very near to catastrophe, I was lazy enough to paint the inside of engine room without masking all the body (stupid me). The result was some black mist at the rear end of body! Fortunately I was able to remove it with some rubbing compound. |

Re: WIP Ferrari 365GTS/4
Once again, little progress (I'm not a very fast builder). Foiled the windscreen frames. Man, I allready hate foiling, even though this is the first time I have used BMF!
Now I'm glueing the windscreen with five minute epoxy. Have to do it in three phases, because of that bent side window frame. The frame was bent during those inactive years, when the box was laying forgotten in some closet. |

Re: WIP Ferrari 365GTS/4
Please, anybody got a picture of those pop-up lights in up-position? References show them only down, and it seems that the front was painted the body color. How about the rest of the light housing? Was it black plastic or was it too painted?
