Putty? Puh-ty? PUTTY?!

What do you need the Tamiya Modeling Putty for? When do you use it? What do you use it for? HOW do you use it? I am so confused.. I recently purchased one, for $8 CND and I don't even know what it's for. I am such a noob at this!

depends what kinda putty

normal putty is just to fill gaps and stuff (as well as any other putty)
epoxy putty is mostly used to make additions to a model, such as flared guards, a different front bumper. so its like a modelling thing.

but usually putty is used to fix gaps between two things where there isnt suppose to be one
