Re: side to side rocking
It's one of the things in the post, either yours or the wheel or axle. Seems like he hasn't done any checking just yet.

Re: side to side rocking
Would a slipped belt create that much of a rock/vibration? I believe he said/meant about 2 in or more side to side.. That's quite a ways. And another thing.. if it were a bent wheel, axle problem or slipped belt, would it not continue even if you reach a certain constant speed?

Re: side to side rocking
You're right there, Bama. All the problems we've mentioned would likely cause a vibration at all speeds, not just slowing down. Guess we'll have to wait for more info.

Re: side to side rocking
On one of the work trucks, a Chevy 3/4 ton, it would vibrate so badly around 40 mph. You could hang around at speeds just below, or just above 40, but if you drove constantly at that speed it was just unbearable. If you had a coffee mug in the cupholder when you started off, it would stay until you got up to that speed, and then it would be spilling everywhere. It was that bad. Turned out it was the passenger side steering tire that had a slipped belt.
If what is happening here is happening at all speeds, then it's probably something worse and more dangerous. I don't know what else to tell you.
