Anyone replace brake hoses? Anyone have pics of welded front tow hook?
1. Are our SS brake hoses an off the shelf kit adapted to use on these cars? I.e. if I get SS hoses for a 19XX Mustang it's the same ones? Or are they specific to the car where I need to measure the length of each and order based on length and fitting angles?
2. I want to replace the ugly fabric tow strap with one of the metal ones. Anyone have pics of how this mounts to the chassis? I want to get all my welding and chassis mods done before she goes to powdercoat. Thanks, Brian

Re: Anyone replace brake hoses? Anyone have pics of welded front tow hook?
Brian,
Don't know about brake lines. I did put the Panoz GTS type front tow monut on mine. No Welding, it bolted to existing holes in frame and radiator cage. Seems like I spent about $100, maybe 18 months ago. Mike |

Any pictures so I can see what's involved? I found the other thread where PAD wants a bunch or it. I can probably fab something up.

Re: Anyone replace brake hoses? Anyone have pics of welded front tow hook?
Brian,
I'm sure you could make one. It is just a piece of 3 inch x 3/16 flat steel that has two slight bends to conform to the flat surfaces of the front frame cross member and the lower cross member of the radiator cage and then the lower front cage cross member (which supports the lower edge of my ABS nose. Something like 15 degree bends. There is a bolt hole in the center of the frame member that you use. It does not attach to the lower cage cross member closest to the frame, but is bent upward to meet the front cage member cross bar. On my cage there was a flat tab welded to the top of the front cage member in the middle that the strape bolted to before jutting straight out to the front. the bend there is slightly tricky, but very doable. The leading edge of the strape has two pieces of tubing welded to the outer edges horizonally for the eyelet bolt. If you don't have a tab at the front on the cage, I'd recommend you weld it on the bottom of the square tubing to make it easier to bend the strape to get a good fit. I did take some photos this morning, but the car is on the ground so they aren't the best. I send them by email. Mike |

I bought the parts from Panoz, GTS9-9121 for $86 and GTS9-9122 for
$27. Shown in parts catalog page 10. Bolts right in. IMG_1222.jpg IMG_1221.jpg |
