Damn Air Compressor!
Hey All,
I am new to this site. I stumbled upon it while doing some research on a new air compressor for my 2002 CR-V LX. Upon searching, I found several articles on people having to replace their air compressor in fairly new CR-V models! According to my dealer, this job is going to cost me an easy $500 with the parts and labor. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I have 60K miles on my car and I refuse to pay this price. I am going to get on the horn with the American Honda Corporation tomorrow. If anyone reads this, and has had this problem too, please email me at LocaDeBrooklyn@aol.com. Let's fight for our right for WORKING AIR COMPRESSORS!!! Thanks, Rachel in Brooklyn |

I can't vote in it any more, but my fiance had an A/C compressor die on her 02 as well. Luckily she has the Honda extended warrenty, so they picked up the tab on it. It's a nice car, but it does have a lot of A/C problems though, as it just died again yesterday

I have a 2001 Honda CR-V with a little more than 90,000 miles. The ac in this vehicle was replaced in 2003 and was just replaced again in 2005. The mechanic said the system was extremely dirty and the dirt that was removed included metal pieces.

My 2002 CRV's compressor just went out as well. The dealer says it was due to a rock or some other object bouncing up and causing a hole in the compressor. Now I need a new compressor and they will be happy to fix it for $577. My CRV has $66,000 miles and I did not get the extended warranty. But I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be covered. I have been reading online to try to find a place to buy an aircompressor for less than the dealer price. Don't know too much about compressors and not sure whether going outside the dealer is even an option.
