the vacuum increases as it revs, there is no vacuum at ilde

i don't think its a vacuum leak, but just to be clear the engine produces the greatest amount of vacuum at idle and decreased as the engine rpm increases. i think it s dealer time, where do you live maybe you can bring it by and i'll check it out for you(still leaning towards a possible bad MAF)

Im in Chicago area. The vacuum line from the EVR (EGR Vacuum Solenoid) has no vacuum at idle, but increase to weak vacuum when it is revs 2000-3000rpms.

sounds like the egr is functioning like it should at idle and wide open throttle it will not flow any exhaust gases to the engine yet at part throttle(2000, 3000 RPM) it will

Are you getting venturi vacuum confused with manifold vacuum? When the throttle plate is closed (idle), the manifold vacuum is high. As the throttle plate opens, ambient air (positive pressure) fills the "vacuum" and manifold vacuum drops. The EGR vacuum supply is from the manifold.

I thought the EGR vacuum was from the EVR(Egr Vacuum Solenoid)

Right, but the solenoid just controls the vacuum. The vacuum is provided by the manifold. The EVR controls the amount of vacuum supplied to the EGR valve.

Maybe I misunderstood your earlier post. I thought you meant that the engine provided no vacuum at idle and the vacuum increased at the engine speed increased. If you meant that there is no vacuum to the EGR at idle, then we agree. That is why I mentioned earlier that removing the vacuum line from the EGR and noting that the engine idle did not change did not point to a bad EGR valve.

My mind was a bit exhausted last night (no pun intended). Sorry about the confusion.

Brought it into the dealer today. They tell me the problems I have are intake gasket leak, bad PVC hose, bad coil on plug, fuel injector & throttle needs cleaning. $1000.00+ to fix
