01 Lincoln LS engine overhaul.

I've read the procedures for removing the 3.9 out of these Lincoln LSs and it looks like you take the engine/subframe assembly out from the bottom of the body of the car, just unbolt everything and unplug and undo all the lines then just support the subframe and lift the rest of the car away from it with a lift,... but does anybody know if its possibly or has anybody here taken the engine out of one of these from the topside using a cherry picker?

i called a buddy of mine he's got a shop uptown here he said you can do it by subframe or else you can take dog house off and take it out with a cherry picker but wasn't realsure on dog house but said drop it from under neath will work.

I've heard that it can be removed from the top, but that it is more work that way.

yes it's more work removing the dog house but i'd do it from the bottom as you could ruin the paint on car or dents in it. go to autozone and get a haynes manual it should show you everything. some autozones will print you out a diagram if there not to lazy? also you could try to get diagram on autozone.com..

good luck....

My statement is that it's more work to remove it from the top.
I vote for bottom removal, like it was intended.
