Installing a new stereo in a 2006 Canyon

I'm running into problems installing my new stereo. Tried to get a wiring harness and the auto parts stores say my truck is too new. Same for getting a Haynes manual. So I don't know what the wiring is on the existing harness. On top of that it seems the stock radio runs my door chimes/key alert etc. I'm not worried about losing that, but just want to get power and speaker hooked up so I can drive in not so much silence. Anyone got any ideas? Or a wiring pinout?

Whats up Boss ! you might have got your problem solved by now but that company called crutchfield makes inter connect harness adaptators that are vehicle specific. hence you tell them you have an o6 canyon and they fit you with a plug and play harness that plugs into the factory harness without cutting the factory harness allowing you to reinstall the factory radio if you decide to sell the truck. hope this helps.

tg2006canyon is correct.
I recently replaced the stock radio in my 2006 and you will (unfortunately) need this adaptor to ensure everything functions properly. (chimes, alarm, power, speakers, etc.) I ended up buying it at BestBuy as I had the dash apart and didn't want to wait on mail order. ($120) You might be able to find it cheaper somewhere. Make sure you check out the antenna wire compatibility to your head unit as well if you plan to use the radio. The adaptor for it costs around $12-15 if remember correctly...
