Clio 03 1.2 16v Heater problem

Hi guys,
I have th eabove,for the last couple of weeks my heater hasn't worked at all.
No hot air and no cold or air con.
I checked all fuses yesterday,no problem there,turned the car on this moring and i got a blast of cold air,the air conn worked!
Then stopped again!
All i get now when i switch it on is noises like its trying to work.
I then decided to try to get to the heater unit,which needs to be done under the wipers.
I have removed the nuts holding the wipers on,but they will not budge so i can get underneath them,any ideas?
Pretty sure i can fix this myself without having to go to a garage and pay silly money.
People i have talked to think it may be an electrical fault as my stereo won't work either.it wont play any cd's!
Even if it is electrical,i still need to get to the unit to check,but the bloody wipers wont come off,is there a diagram available?

power motor direct and if it works ok then maybe heater resistor needs to be replaced
