you're wrong.... as long as it says somewhere "for show or offroad use only" its not illegal.... yes it may be illegal to drive with them on, but its not illegal to park and put them on... Why do you think smoke shops can sell glass bowls and water bongs.... because it says "for tobacco use only"

Re: Legality of LED Under Car Lights

Unless it says "DOT" right on the lens, its not legal. There are also specific laws about how many lights and the total wattage allowed. Otherwise people could put fifteen DOT-legal fog lights on their car.

Undercar LEDs and neon are illegal in all 50 states. Some states don't crack down on it, but the federal law says they're illegal

Re: Legality of LED Under Car Lights

i might want to correct some askew information on here. they are illegal in all 50 states.......if the car is in motion. you can have any aftermarket light on (fire flys, street glow, windshield washer flasher things...), when your car is not in motion.

Re: Legality of LED Under Car Lights

not true i know for a fact it is legal in some states the laws are different in each state. in ga you can have any color except red and blue and the neons cannot flash. in fl the law states the same. ohio states and color except emergency colors(red and blue) and cannot flash. the best thing to do is stop in at a police station and ask. i have white leds on my truck and bike and i know i cant use em here in ct but i still do on my bikeand ive sat next to a cop and he didnt care. i think they are a lot less caring on bikes due to the limited visibilty.
