93 Eagle Vision TSi
I came upon this forum by accident, and I'm glad I did. It seems my 93 Vision TSi has the same quirks as everyone else--I just recently began suffering the "clunk" when backing up, have the ATC problem (it's a real bummer right now that it's in the hi 90s in Baltimore) and the starting difficulties. I would like to thank those that have posted, and replied to the posts--you all have enlightened me on my quirky car. She is a good car, though. Has 112,000 miles on her, original engine, about to rebuild tranny, replaced timing belt & water pump(went up simultaneously in a snowstorm) All Vision owners, there is a current open recall on the floor shifters, as they can cause the car to drift even when you put it in park, as well as to be able to remove the key while the car is running! Has anyone had trouble with the headliner separating in the middle of the back of the vehicle??

Re: 93 Eagle Vision TSi
the clunk when you back-up, try checking your motor mounts, make sure they aren't worn or deteriorated. The ATC unit, good luck with replacing that. Most ATC units in Chrysler LH sedans went bad, and you're looking at around $500 to replace that, if you can't find one for an Eagle Vision, any other LH car (Dodge Intrepid, Chrysler Concorde, Chrysler LHS) will work from 1993-1997. I wish I would have know this, we had a junk car come through my dealership, it was a 1996 Chrysler Vision, Canadian export model. It had a perfectly running ATC unit. One last little suggestion, before you try rebuilding the transmission, try a tune-up by flushing out the old transmission fluid and running Mopar ATF +4, the only factory recommended fluid for all Chrysler vehicles. If you run that in there, you should notice a difference in how transmission works.

Re: 93 Eagle Vision TSi
Also check your input/output speed sensors. They are less than $20 each and are known to go out on these cars. If you input speed sensor goes out your speedo will work but you'll only have 1st and 2nd gears. If you the speedo goes out and you only have 2nd gear our output speed sensor is bad. I've learned both of these the hard way. Good luck.
