Okay, not to bring back a dead thread, but since you posted a few weeks ago, I'll chime in. DO NOT pay them to blend. Paying $300 to blend it is a rip off.
They are raping and taking advantedge of you. It is commen autobody and painting practice to BLEND. It is almost a given that they will have to blend the new painted areas with the old ones so you can't see the big difference. I've never seen anyone paint that much and not blend. I've seen some really awful blend jobs, really awful color and shade matching with blending done to cover up (unsuccessfully) the half ass job of color matching. They hacked it. Even blended you'll still be able to pull out the area where the blending started and ended. But after LONG argueing they always ended having toi fix it for free.
Blending IS made to blend the new paint with old, help to hide a shade or so off by basically blending the old paint with the new paint on the panels, but thats pretty far off in that pic. I'd still be able to pull off where the blend stated and ended.
Unless they specified they were not going to blend, they should have to blend it and fix it for free. It's commen practice to blend, espeically when you paint that much of a car. If you want to the whole car re-painted, fine, but don't give those guys another dime until theyFIX what they screwed up for free. They messed up, they have to fix it. They will most likely tell you they wo't do ti for free, but keep bitching and pushing. THEY messed up, you don't have to pay them to fix their own mess up. They screwed up your car, they should fix it for free. They'll try to convince you otherwise, all shops will..becuase it costs them money to fix it, but they screwed up, they need to fix it...period.
