Getting another car!!!

Instead of buying a set of Tein's and a Greddy exhaust system for my G20, I think im going to get a used 240sx. I plan on getting an old S13 240sx hatchback and doing a JDM 180sx conversion.

My plans are to drop in a S13 red top SR20DET and swaping out the stock front bumper, side skirts, back bumper, and wing for genuine Nissan 180sx type x parts. Of course I wont be doing all this at one time but my plans are to make a 180sx out of a 240sx and move on from there.

I just want some feed back and some idea's from you G20 folks. Do you guys think I should just work on my G20 or should I get the 240sx and do work on that? If I get a 240sx I will leave my G20 as is and put all my money and efforts into the 240sx for a while. I really cant work on two cars at once but im wont be selling the G20.

Thx for your insight.

Its up to you, but if you put an SR20DET in a 240SX that would make it a 200SX not a 180SX (yes the Silvias were called 200SX in certain parts of the world).

Hehehe, a 180sx isnt a Silvia or a 200sx. Its a 240sx hatch back here in the states. A 240sx coupe would be either a Silvia or a 200sx. Heres a pic of a 180sx from Japan.

i'm considering selling my G20 too, after putting much work in it.

Why? Well, I want a Lancer. I know, the U.S. Lancers are currently piss-slow and all, but there is one down at the lot that they had special made, with yellow and black hand stitched leather, black flame-like graphics on the side(the car is yellow)

i could get that for 18,000 and wait until some more aftermarket parts(turbocharger, specifically) come out for it, or i can wait until the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII's come out here.

Or, I could just keep the G20.

Go for it!

2 DET's are always better than 1.

It would be nice to pick fwd/rwd on a day to day basis.

well I thought they were coming out with it in turbo.....I saw one at Import Tuners building I think it was called Primedia or McMullen Argus Publishing....asked a friend of mine that works there if it was a real lancer...and he said yes...I asked again after noticing it being left hand US version lancer and he still answered YES! Funny thing is that it was not the EvoVII. I think it was EvoVI. Kinda weird but I will look into it.

if you are spending money buying a S13 + fixing that up, why not put all the money in your G? you have more money to play around with, you dont have to pay insurance, registration, etc for both car...Unless you really need two car, or just stick with your G

Well im pretty sure im going to get a 240SX now. Its also going to be my senior project. That way I can drain funds out of my parents saying its for school. Hehehe. The first stage will be to give it a tune up and see what I cant do with it stock w/o spending much money. Then im going to bring it to JDM 180SX Type X spec's.

I'd put the money in my g. You would have a luxury car with at turbo that hauls a$$. I want looks, class, and speed, all in one. You add a turbo to a G20 and you got a nice little car. And you'd have a rare car.
