change to manuel
ok guys i need a lil help with this one i was wondering of anyone knows if there is a manuel transmission out there to change for my automatic 99 toyota solara????

1st generation solaras did come optional with a 5speed manual in the 4cyl or v6. i'm sure you could find a used one but good luck with the swap. not only needing the trans, flywheel, axles, bearings, mounts, and not to mention a new ecu and wire harness

For what it's worth, I have a 2000 V6 5SP Camry. Don't know if that stuff is interchangeable. One thing about having a manual tranny is, it has it's quirks. Like when you shift, you have that delayed rpm drop when you push in the clutch and at slow speed or barely pushing on the throttle, the engine will jerk because the TPS doesn't know whether it is suppose to give you gas or not. Or let off the throttle while coasting, it'll jerk when you come back on the gas. Just a characteristic of it with an electronic fuel system. PITA and really annoying at times! But 256K later, we deal with it.
