4.9l no oil pressure

Recently installed 95 4.9l in 91 F150.Has 82,000 miles on it. It was swapped out for a V8. It has been sitting inside for 2 years. Upon start up had no oil pressure. No signs of oil being pumped up on the lifters. replaced oil pump and primed the lifters with a shaft on a drill through the dist hole till the oil was seen coming over the rockers. Started up no oil pressure and did not keep pumping on the rockers. Primed the lifters 1 more time for 5 min and started up. Still no pressure and not pumping oil on rockers. The distributor is also new. Any help would greatly be welcomed.

Re: 4.9l no oil pressure

That's a strange one. You say the distributor is new, but was more than one distributor tried? If you have oil pressure by priming through the distributor hole and no oil pressure when the engine is started the distributor must not be engaging the oil pump drive rod.
