In all seriousness, it looks like a very sharp car! Maybe you haven't had the chance to really get on either of the GXP's yet but if you have how is the torque steer on those things? I would imagine you get a decient amount of it with the 5.3L under the hood but there are definately cars that can supress the effect.

Thanks Alex. There is torque steer but no worse than a GP with a Series II/III 3800 supercharged engine. What the GM engineers did is came up with a weird tire/wheel combination to help minimize or control it. Specially made Z rated Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires. The front are P255/45R18 and the rear P225/50R18. Also, it has the FE4 suspension/handling package with Bilstein struts all around and higher rate strut coil springs.

The Impala SS has the same size tires all around.

No I get your point.

I looked at a used '09 Impala SS and what turned me off was the interior design and mainly the dash plus the price was ridiculous. Also, how about a HUD and Tap Shift?

The over 12 inch special rotors with the GXP logo calipers are really nice but prone to premature failure. The first GXP I bought had a brake job done by the dealership under warranty according the the CarFax service history.

Regardless if it is an Impala SS, Monte Carlo SS or GXP what we all have in common is the nice 5.3L V8 engine.

yeah, i know what you mean. i'm not a real big fan of the interior either. really the only reason i bought this car is cuz i got a KILLER deal on it. bought the car in early 2008 for $14,995.00 out the door. car had some pretty mean hail damage on the hood so i bought a new one for it. car only had 13K on it.

haha...more that i would have added to the list if i kept going

Very nice, sounds like a well built car. People that do the VR4 twin turbo conversion on their SL's have the most horrid torque steer you can imagine. If your arms weren't strong before the swap, they will be now. If I am ever in your neck of the woods you have to give me a ride in it.

Re: Post Your Mileage

Up to 180K miles now. Go baby go. Heaven knows I've paid through the ears to get it that far.
Washer fluid pump dead, oil pan gasket leak, horrible clunks that are probably cradle mounts or something like that. Everything else has been replaced already. :/
