why did Benz replace the 430 model anyways?

Just goto MBUSA.com

yeah, they replaced the 430 that had 275 hp with a 500 engine that has a whopping 302 hp.

just commonize the engine size with the other mercedes vehicles, reduce cost...

Its got to be said, I don't see the point in the ML500. The 350 has all the power you would want if you were buying a Petrol 4x4, and if you want performance then theres the ML55 AMG. It seems to me that merc are treading on their own toes a little with the ML.

And to be fair, although I love MB's, I'd still buy a Range Rover, or an X5 over the ML...
